Progress committees are the mechanism for getting personally involved in Florence County’s economic development efforts. Working together with the Florence County Economic Development Partnership, we are able to continually improve the quality of life for Florence County residents.
Listed below you will find the Progress Committees, their responsibilities and members. If you would have an interest in serving on one of these committees, please contact our office.
- Finance Committee: The Finance Committee shall be responsible for advising the Board regarding financial matters, shall assist the Treasurer in formulating such budgets as may be required, shall be responsible for an annual audit and shall perform other duties as requested by the Executive Committee. The Finance Committee shall be chaired by the Treasurer of Progress. It shall also include at least two other Board members as appointed by the Chairman of the Board.
- Membership Committee: The Membership Committee shall be responsible for membership campaigns, member retention and member appreciation. The Membership Committee shall have a Chairman and at least two other members. Members of this committee may be selected from the Board of Directors or any level of membership.
- Nominating Committee: The Nominating Committee shall be responsible for evaluating the positions available and making nominations for the Progress and Partnership Boards in November at the Annual Meeting. The Nominating Committee will also be responsible for nominating officers for the Progress Executive Committee during the first Board meeting following the Annual Meeting each year. The Chairman shall appoint a committee of a Chairman and at least two additional Board members.
